The diagnosis here is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

  • The initial symptom of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is usually a painless swelling or lump in the upper neck. This is usually due to a swollen lymph node. Other symptoms associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma  include nasal obstruction, epistaxis and otitis media from eustachian tube obstruction. Hearing loss (i.e conductive deafness) in one ear and tinnitus are also symptoms seen in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Smoking and alcohol can raise the risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma , it is also is a major risk factor to many other types of cancers.
